Pacquiao was all over town yesterday as he prepared to host a big birthday party set in the evening. In a very brief conversation, he said there’s nothing new regarding his next fight.

Mayweather Jr. Has: “No Interest in Hatton or Pacquiao”

December 17, 2008

After all of the rumors and dozens of headlines that have circulated for the last two weeks, Leonard Ellerbe, advisor and close friend of Floyd Mayweather Jr., has denied all of media stories that state Floyd is interested in returning to the ring for a rematch with Ricky Hatton and/or a fight with Manny Pacquiao.

He says that neither himself, Mayweather, or Mayweather’s manager, Al Haymon, have had any kind of discussions with anyone for a fight with Hatton or Pacquiao.

“I don’t know where that came from because no one from our side has spoken with them. I have not spoken with Gareth [Williams, Hatton's lawyer] and I have not spoken with Ray Hatton. Al Haymon hasn’t spoken with them, either,” Ellerbe told boxing scribe David Mayo.

Riza Santos Ridiculous attitude

December 17, 2008

FROM the start, Riza Santos has been pictured as a primadonna. Her image is far from her being beauty queen.

“Naku! Tigilan ako sa title niya ‘no? Hindi siya national title holder. Naging representative lang siya ng Filipino community sa Canada sa Miss Earth. Kaya huwag siyang mag-emote!,” reads the text message of one reader.

For the last few days, I have been receiving text messages from readers commenting on what happened to Riza. At first, I was clueless as I had no idea what they were texting. It was only after reading Ricky Lo’s column that I got to know the issue.

Accordingly, Riza begged off from fulfilling her duties for being an apparel endorser and other showbiz commitments. She reasoned out that she would be going to Canada for business purposes. But later on, people found out that she never left the country.

The mystery in Karylle’s smile

December 17, 2008

A smile can mean a thousand things. Karylle’s smile captured a lot of attention especially when asked regarding the pregnancy issue of Marian Rivera. This never ending issue Karylle ” Dingdong ” Marian “love triangle” still makes waves in local showbiz.

Karylle, on the Buzz was asked by Boy Abunda if Marian Rivera was pregnant. That smile of Karylle had a lot of meaning and accordingly should create a lot of speculations.

A lot has happened to Karylle these past weeks. With her recent transfer to the Kapamilya network and her singing the national anthem in Manny Pacquiao’s match with Oscar de la Hoya to performing in ASAP, the main rival of SOP, her former show in GMA.

Truly this question would ring not only the bell in the boxing match but through her heart. Her smile would really create a lot of meanings to viewers and especially to the ones concerned with the issue. Speculations have been drawn really out of proportion.

Inamin din ni Gerald that he really likes Kim at kaya MU pa lang muna ay dahil ayaw nilang madaliin ang mga bagay-bagay.

“Ano lang, dating lang,” say ni Gerald

Joc Joc Bolante ‘friends’ ordered arrested

December 17, 2008

THE Senate Blue Ribbon committee yesterday ordered the arrest of Jaime Paule and Maritess Aytona, two witnesses in the P728-million fertilizer scam probe, for failing to show up in yesterday’s hearing.

Paule, who has alleged ties with Malacañang, is the supposed financier of Feshan Philippines Inc. one of the compost fertilizer suppliers linked to the fertilizer mess.

Aytona, the fertilizer supplier, has been linked by scam witness Jose Barredo Jr. as the “runner” of former agriculture undersecretary Jocelyn Bolante, the alleged scam mastermind.

“The committee will act on the continuous absence of Ms. Aytona and once the warrant of arrest is issued to her, I do not intend to bring her to the Senate. We will arrest her and put her in the Pasay jail,” said Sen. Richard Gordon, Blue Ribbon chair.

Gordon said Aytona did not give a formal excuse for her absence.
