‘Will you entrust your money to the thieves?’ – Hongkong Human Rights activist

March 31, 2008

PRO-DEMOCRACY groups in Hong Kong yesterday warned investors that “corruption and murders taint their investments in the Philippines” and made true their vow to shame President Arroyo, calling her a “plunderer” and a “murderer” right outside the Conrad Hotel, venue of the 11th Credit Suisse Asia Investment Conference which she attended.

The HK Campaign for the Advancement of Human Rights and Peace in the Philippines (HKCAHRPP) said local police attempted to place its members some 100 meters away from Conrad Hotel, but the residents successfully staged their protest right in front of the venue.

Protests mark Arroyo’s arrival in HK

March 31, 2008

Around 1,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) called on President Arroyo to resign as she arrived in Hong Kong yesterday to try and drum up foreign investments.

The protesters gathered outside the hotel where the President, dogged at home by falling popularity and corruption allegations, was due to give a speech to invited members of the Filipino community in Hong Kong.

“Overseas workers do not welcome Gloria Arroyo in Hong Kong,” said Eman Villanueva, secretary general of United Filipinos in Hong Kong, one of the groups organizing Sunday’s protest.

“She should go back to the Philippines and face the charges against her and her government,” he added.

Brutally frank views from former Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban

March 31, 2008

Former Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban gave a blunt view on the raging debate over the apparent capitulation of the Supreme Court (SC) to the Executive and at the same time its incursion into the authority of the Senate after ruling that former Socio-Economic Secretary Romulo Neri can invoke executive privilege to evade three key questions on the National Broadband Network (NBN) scandal.

Panganiban did not mince words in saying the majority decision that was contained in the ponencia of Justice Teresita Leonardo de Castro and concurred in by Justices Renato Corona, Dante Tinga, Presbiterio Velasco Jr., Antonio Eduardo Nachura, and Arturo Brion “failed to check” presidential abuse; worse it imprudently expanded executive privilege to cover wrongdoings.

Interview ni Gabby Concecpcion, tinutukan ni KC

March 31, 2008

Gabby Concepcion, two years ang exclusive contract sa Dos at Star Cinema

March 31, 2008

But to make it more formal, si Gabby naman ang nakatakdang pumirma today. Kung saan, hindi na idinetalye pa ng aming source, but we guess, sa ABS-CBN din ito gaganapin.

Sharon Cuneta and KC Concepcion gusto agad makasama ni Gabby Concepcion

March 31, 2008

Now it can be told.

Alam ko namang idol mo ’yon, ’no!
