Dingdong Dantes dresses down

People began to notice Jose Sixto Dantes III, the man we now know as Dingdong Dantes, when he first appeared as a pudgy boy in TV commercials and as a nubile looker and member of an all-male dance group. The doors of Tinseltown opened for him when he took the boy-next-door route by giving life to Iñaki Torres in the phenomenal teen show T.G.I.S. The spotlight continues to follow Dantes’s every showbiz step.

Dantes has starred in a string of TV shows and movies, was one-half of a couple of love-teams and stellar pairings, and nowadays, all his hard work and determination seem to be paying off handsomely as he is considered as one of the most popular young actors in the country. This generation simply adores him as Haring Ybrahim/Ybarro in Encantadia and as the modern-day Prince Charming, Sergio Santibañez, in the immensely popular Marimar (opposite Marian Rivera).

His career accelerates further as Dingdong faces his biggest and boldest modeling act yet as the dashing actor (who, at 165 lbs, stands at 5’10”, with a 32-inch waistline, 11-inch shoe size) teams up with Bench, the premiere Filipino lifestyle brand, as the newest endorser of Bench Body.

With his chiseled good looks, Dantes in his larger-than-life billboards situated all over the metropolis is definitely a scorcher in these summer months!

With photography by Ronnie Salvacion, styling by Noel Manapat and makeup by Juan Sarte, Dantes’s sex appeal oozes as he looks like a Latin-American hunk wearing the brand’s comfy underwear classic seamless and low-rise boxer briefs, bold-colored hipster briefs and cool graphic briefs with prints varying from paisleys, florals, animals, cartoons and stripes.

“The pictorial was in Subic and I give credit to our photographer Ronnie Salvacion. The shoot was done two months ago and the photo session took the whole team two weeks. I started as a dancer and I never thought that this would happen since most male models are usually lanky. Parang hindi yata ako magiging ganun. So when I was posing and hearing all the instructions to project, to look and flirt with the camera, I felt like a legit model. I was neither shy nor afraid during the whole pictorial. Kasi kung nahiya ako nung simula, hindi ko na siya matatanggal. It helps that I am in a much better shape now so that added to the confidence. In addition, the location they chose was very cinematic. I like the concept of outdoor pictorials because somehow, it motivates you to pose properly and iba siempre pag natural ang lighting.”

Aside from the donning the hottest underwear, Dingdong will also be seen clothed in Bench signature items such as white hooded long sleeves, 100 percent cotton, deep V-neck and round-neck colored tees with gold foil prints and white gold patches.

“I enjoyed doing it, I did it for myself. Whoever appreciates it, all I can say is thank you. If they want to objectify me, that is their choice, I just hope I am deserving of their different kind of attention” answers Dantes.

He also divulges girlfriend Karylle’s reaction to his sexy pictorial, “Well, she said that the shots were nice and tastefully done. She is supportive. I am very lucky to have a partner like her because she is super understanding and very pasensyosa.”

What does Dingdong consider sexy about himself? “I think my shoulders are sexy because they are broad. The not sexy part would have to be my calves (legs), they are not athletic enough,” ends Dingdong with a sexy grin on his face.
