Cristine Reyes talks about Dennis Trillo, Carlene Aguilar, Willie Revillame and Ate Ara Mina

CRISTINE Reyes is now with ABS-CBN, but she also signed a three-year management contract with Viva Artist Agency of Veronique del Rosario. She now joins the ranks of Anne Curtis, Rufa Mae Quinto, Sarah Geronimo and Rachelle Ann Go who are all with VAA. “I know I’ll have a better future in showbiz with VAA managing me,” she says.

When she left GMA-7 and moved to ABS, she was called a pasaway, an ingrate, and other names. Does she regret leaving GMA? “No, happy ako maging kapamilya. Heto nga, I have ‘Eva Fonda’, which will be shown on primetime. We’re taping week 4 now.”

We thought they stopped taping and had to reshoot. “That’s true. After management previewed the first few episodes, ABS decided to reshoot the scenes of Jean Saburit, Mark Gil and Baron Geisler who play a family kunsaan nagtatrabaho ako as maid. May binago yata sa istorya, pero sa scenes ko, walang ni-reshoot. Meron din daw part na nasira so kailangang ireshoot.”

The trailer shows she is raped by Baron. “Very violent rape ‘yun kaya nagkapasa-pasa ako at nabukulan. But we had to do it kasi kailangan talaga sa eksena. Baron is good and he even talked to me before we shot it. Kung anong puede niyang gawin sa’kin, like puwede raw ba niya kong sakalin. I said okay lang at ‘yun, nabugbog ako nang husto. But he’s not my leading man here kundi si Jason Abalos. It’s directed by Jon Red and Frasco Mortiz, the son of Edgar Mortiz.”

Has she patched things up with her Ate Ara Mina? “No. Ayaw niya. Siyang nagtampo sa’kin, e.”

Why? Is it because her show is in primetime and she’s the lead while Ara’s “Ligaw na Bulaklak” is in the afternoon and she only supports Roxanne Guinoo? “Hindi ‘yun ang dahilan. Ang babaw naman. Basta don’t ask me the reason anymore kasi hindi maganda na magkapatid kami, tapos may ganitong tampuhan. I tried makipagbati (sa kanya). Nagpupunta pa nga ako sa new coffee shop niya, Cafe Mina, in Marikina at bumibili ako roon ng adobo flakes niya na masarap at ‘yung cake nila, pero hindi pa rin ako binabati so I already told our mother to talk to her dahil gusto kong matapos na ito. Gusto ko lang linawin na wala talaga akong galit sa ate ko kaya sana maayos na ito.”

How about Dennis Trillo? Are they back in each other’s arms? “I’ll admit that we’re dating. I’d like to think exclusively kasi wala naman akong ibang dine-date. Ewan ko siya. Pero kung lumabas kami, siguro once or twice a month lang kasi pareho kaming busy. Wala kaming commitment as of now kasi, sabi ko nga sa kanya, may magulong mga bagay, like his having a son. So I told him, let’s just enjoy each other’s company at tingnan namin kung tatagal ito at kung saan pupunta ito. Tama na ‘yung ganun as of now.”

Is it true she got jealous when Willie Revillame got Dennis’ ex, Carlene Aguilar, as a guest co-host in “Wowowee”? Willie reportedly did this to spite her. “Hindi, a. Ni hindi ko nga alam na nag-guest siya roon. And why will he do such a thing to spite me. Hindi naman naging kami. Matagal ko na nga siyang hindi nakikita at all. He can guest anyone na gusto niya, show naman niya ‘yun, e.”

How come it’s said she’s still a pasaway even in ABS? “Naku, wala na lang siguro silang masabi sa akin ang mga nagsusulat ng ganyan. Kasundo ko lahat ng staff sa ‘Eva Fonda,” pati co-stars ko. Alam nila hindi ko sila binibigyan ng sakit ng ulo. At heto nga, hindi pa tapos ang ‘Eva Fonda,’ I’m already assigned to do ‘A Time for Us,’ ‘yung soap ni Jericho Rosales. Ka-love triangle nila ako ni Carmen Soo and I’m starting to shoot for them by August. Tapos, by September, I’ll go to Malaysia dahil may scenes din akong kukunan doon. Bibigyan ba ako agad ng isa pang show kung pasaway nga ako?”
