STAND UP comic Michelle or Sheng expelled from PDA

July 7, 2008

STAND UP comic Michelle or Sheng, 25, was expelled from Pinoy Dream Academy Saturday night. Many were surprised as they thought it’s the antipatiko Jet who’d get the ax. But it was a close fight between them as Jet got 51.07% while Sheng got 48.93% of the text votes.

Jet himself thought he’s leaving, so he had already packed his bags earlier, ready to go. Later, he cried saying he really misses his family so much and he’s worried for them since he’s the breadwinner. “Baka wala na silang makain ngayon,” he wails. In which case, why did he join the contest at all if he failed to provide enough provisions for them?

Sheng, who did a good rendition of “Lean on Me” on performance night, says she was able to accept her being ousted easily.

“Kasi si Jet, people are more interested in him dahil alam ng viewers na marami pa siyang issues na dapat i-resolve inside PDA,” she explains.

On Sunday night, the scholars had special guests. They became Ates and Kuyas to the 12 Little Dreamers who all showed their respective talents in singing. The best four kids for us are Shane, Phillip (even Ryan Cayabyab found him cute), Jerome and Amy. We agree with Mr. C and voice mentor Kitchie Molina that the parents of these kids should not make them sing songs that are written for adults, like the “Dreamgirls” piece “And I Am Telling You” that was sung by a 6-year-old girl, or “The Colors of the Wind” from “Pocahontas”. The high notes in these songs can surely destroy or easily wear out the vocal chords and muscles of these tots that are still on their way to maturation.
