Pokwang Mukhang Aswang - Joey de Leon

August 20, 2008

“Mukhang aswang.” That’s how Joey de Leon described Pokwang. Ouch!

Joey has been on the war zone of late ” ready to attack anyone. He just made a big controversy out of his resignation as columnist of Manila Bulletin after accusing Dindo Balares of Balita for allegedly fabricating lies for reporting that “Eat… Bulaga’s” last outing in the US was a big flop.

Now that he resumes his column writing for Philippine Star, Joey hopefully will now be more reader-friendly. However, his acidic tongue continues to speak nasty words. His latest victim is Pokwang as he mocks her to the max.

No doubt about it. Pokwang brings smiles and happiness to Filpino viewers here and abroad with her unique brand of comedy. Yes, her mere looks complete with those funny costumes she wear everyday in the show make you roll with laughter.

On the other hand, “Eat… Bulaga” has reigned supreme as number one variety show for almost 30 years. Undoubtedly, it has already reached its peak and made history in Philippine television. But such achievement seems to have made its hosts and staff complacent. It has not revolved to another level. The show is passé, to say the least.

Meanwhile, “Wowowee” has captured the hearts of the Filipino viewers because Willie Revillame and his co-hosts enjoy and love what they are doing. And Pokwang defines what comedy means. She alone can suck the blood of rival show to death. And she’s a sore sight to Joey. Maybe, that’s why he calls her “aswang.”

Shouldn’t Joey be supportive of his fellow comedian? So, why is he so mad at poor Pokwang? Just asking…

oo nga! it’s not even about respect to a fellow comedian. It’s about respect for another human being. Kung sabagay aswang nga daw.
    He’s so nasty and mean.
No matter where you look at it, he’s wrong.

dont be fooled by somebody like willie revillame….yes, my hands down to pokwang, her brand of comedy really caught filipino viewers here and abroad…but try to see the real willie revillame….he has used millions of poor filipinos to make his show work….if you are smart people..you will know what im talking about…..its exploitation..and mr revillame is good at it…why would you make ur contestant or audience cry in front of national television…ur a noontime show..u have to make people laugh or smile and make them forget their problems even for a short while….watch eat bulaga, once the contestants start to cry..joey or vic try everything not to make a single tear fall from his eyes….they comfort him and try to make him laugh….wake up people…!!! willie revillame should not be praised….a wife beater, a lier, a cheater…,name all the bad things, he’s had them all….

Got something to say?
