Pregnancy won’t stop Angelika dela Cruz

ANGELIKA Dela Cruz made a big revelation when she took the Hot Seat in “Showbiz Central” last Sunday. She revealed that she has tied the knot with non-showbiz boyfriend Orion Cesareo last August and she is now three months pregnant. She’s the first star to be grilled on the Hot Seat twice by Central Jurors Rufa Mae Quinto and DJ Mo and, at first, she just said she’s engaged to Orion. She said he proposed to her in December 2007, when they celebrated their first anniversary as a couple.

“Naiinis pa nga ako noong una kasi ang tagal niya akong pinaghintay sa kotse at pinapapak na ako ng lamok,” she said. “Nang pinapasok na niya ko, puno na ng petals lahat ng floor na daraanan ko and there’s a big heart made of chocolates waiting for me. Inside one of the chocolates, nandun ‘yung engagement ring and he said, ‘Will you marry me?’”

It was during the Killer Question portion that she finally admitted that they’re already married and she’s pregnant. Isn’t she worried that this would adversely affect her career? “No. I’m really thankful nga to GMA as they promised that they would support me all the way.”

She’s now in two regular GMA soaps. In the afternoon, she’s in “Una Kang Naging Akin” with Wendell Ramos and Maxene Magalona, and in the evening, she’s in “La Lola” where she plays villain to Rhian Ramos and JC de Vera. Hopefully, both shows would have already ended before her tummy becomes too noticeable.

“I promise to be not only a good mom but also a friend to my baby,” she added. “I’ll also be a good wife to my husband and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him.”

Angelika is the third star to admit in recent weeks that she’s infanticipating. First was Mylene Dizon, followed by VIna Morales. At least, in her case, she can say she’s already married to the father of her child.
