American record producer and composer David Foster, the manager of international singing sensation Charice, has offered the young Filipino star to move to the United States, her mother has said.

In an exclusive interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com , Raquel Pempengco, Charice’s mother, said Foster told them that it would be convenient to stay in the US while the singer attends to her commitments abroad.

“Ang sabi niya ay mag-stay na nga kami doon kasi nandoon na ‘yung career ni Charice pero hindi nga ako pumayag kasi nandito pa si Koykoy (Charice younger brother),” the mother said.

Pempengco said that she would prefer to return to the Philippines from time to time, even for just a few days because of her son’s schooling.

Siyempre mas gusto ko pa din dito kasi nakasanayan namin dito,” she said.

She admitted that big opportunities await Charice in the US but they always long for home after each show since they would also want to spend time with family and friends.

She added that even Charice rejected that idea of staying in the US for good because all her friends are in the Philippines.

“Nandito din ang kaibigan niya. Sabi niya OK lang na mag-stay doon pero mas gusto niyang umuuwi,” she said.

The mother said they go abroad only for work.

Talagang minsan niyaya kaming magpasyal ayaw namin. Pumunta kami doon para ma-trabaho talaga. Si Charice dito nya gustong mamasyal, mas gusto niya ditong mag-shopping,” she said.

The young diva is scheduled to fly to the US next year and stay there for almost three months to record her first international album that will be produced by Foster.

Charice is also set to guest on “Wowowee’s” show in San Diego, California later this month.
