Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson cant come home for Christmas

November 28, 2008

MOTHER Lily Monteverde is thankful to ABS-CBN for lending her the love team of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson to star in the “Class Picture” episode of “Shake, Rattle & Roll X,” an entry in the coming Metro filmfest. “Marami silang fans and I’m confident that their presence in the movie will help pull in the crowd to make it a topgrosser,” says Madera.

Kim and Gerald are really favored by their home studio. Their Sunday afternoon soap, “My Only Hope,” is ending in March yet, but ABS has already started showing the trailer of their new soap intended for primetime, “Tayong Dalawa,” where they will be supported by Jake Cuenca. Aren’t other ABS young stars envious of them since they’re obviously the favorite stars now in the network whose projects come one after the other?

“There’s no need for anyone to be envious of us,” says Kim. “Everyone naman is given the same chance. Suwerte lang siguro namin ni Gerald na nag-click sa viewers ang love team.”

With them seeing each other everyday, don’t they somehow feel tired working together constantly?

“Hindi naman po,” says Gerald. “It only helps become closer to one another, for us to get to know each other better. Wala naman sigurong masama roon.”

How about the viewing public? Won’t they get tired of their tandem? “Hopefully hindi naman,” says Kim. “Kasi iba-ibang klase naman ng palabas ang ginagawa namin. Like dito sa ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll X’, first time namin gumawa ng horror movie.

This time, hindi lang sila titili dahil sa kilig scenes kundi sisigaw sila dahil sa scary scenes. We play students in an old school at hindi namin alam, may multo pala ng isang madre, played by Jean Garcia who lived 100 years ago, who’s haunting the school premises and want to kill us students na magkakasama sa isang class picture.”

How do they intend to celebrate Christmas this year? “Plano sana naming umuwi to our respective provinces,” says Kim. “Ako sa Cebu at si Gerald, sa Gen. Santos City. But since we have a filmfest entry, we’re told we have to join the Parade of Stars on Christmas Eve and then attend the awards night. So stay put muna siguro kami rito and later na lang kami uuwi sa families namin sa probinsiya.”
