Vic Sotto still the undisputed box-office king

December 29, 2009

VIC Sotto is really the undisputed box-office king of the Metro Manila Film Festival. In the tradition of all his past entries, his “Ang Darling Kong Aswang” opposite Cristine Reyes is currently in a neck-to-neck battle with Sen. Bong Revilla’s “Ang Panday” for the top spot.

When all the entries opened on Christmas day, “Ang Panday” slightly edged “Ang Darling Kong Aswang” but based on its two-day total gross, the tables were turned as the latter now occupies the number one position in the box-office race. It’s really a tight bout for the top between the two visual effects-filled entries.

While it’s still early to determine the festival top grosser, it’s always the case that Vic’s annual entry is always in strong contention like “Ang Darling Kong Aswang.”

Trailing behind Vic and Bong’s entries are the horror trilogy “Shake, Rattle & Roll 11,” the love story “I Love You Goodbye,” the comedy “Nobody Nobody but Juan,” the family drama “Mano Po 6” (A Mother’s Love) and the fantasy “Wapakman.”
