Anne Curtis willing to share ‘box-office queen’ title with Cristine Reyes

November 3, 2011

“Well, I believe kasi na when you’re blessed, you should share your blessings without a doubt, because parang that’s one of the reasons why I think you also get blessed, eh. So that you can share it to people who are in need of that blessing, too. I-share natin, ’wag tayo madamot,” say niyang natatawa.

“Kumain nang kumain, kasi sobra akong nag-work-out for the movie, so, binongga ko ’yung kain ko after.”

Tulad ni Cristine Reyes, okay na okay daw sa kanya kung dalawa silang box-office queen this year.

“Of course naman, last year, there were two box- office kings, so, baka it’s time for two box-office queens,” masaya pa rin niyang sabi.

In real life, Anne Curtis won’t be the ‘other woman’

September 22, 2011

Actress Anne Curtis said she’s not afraid of being perceived as a bad girl in real life after she played the role of a mistress in Star Cinema’s “No Other Woman.”

“Ang dami sigurong mga asawang posibleng magalit sa akin. But sana that just goes to say na effective ang character. Kasi actually sa nangyayari all around it’s possible talaga that it can happen,” Curtis told on Wednesday.

“Pero malayo sa akin talaga ‘yung character,” she added.

She admitted that it was a brave thing to do a role contrary to her sweet image.

Curtis stressed that she’s just doing a character, and in real life, she will never ever want to be the “other woman.”

“No, no, no. Big no-no sa akin ito in real life. I will never allow my self to be the second choice,” Curtis said.

In “No Other Woman,” Curtis plays the role of Kara Zalderiaga, beautiful-socialite woman. Although she has many boyfriends, she is emotionally detached to love.

Directed by Ruel S. Bayani, the movie also stars Derek Ramsay who plays the role of Ram Escaler, a dedicated husband to Cristine Reyes’ character Charmain Escaler.

“No Other Woman” will hit theaters nationwide on September 28, 2011.

“If it happens, it will be very good, everybody’s happy.”

Curtis said Heussaff has been very supportive of her showbiz career.

“Kinakamusta niya ako. ‘How was it?’ Sinasabi ko sa kanya if I feel maybe I should have given more. He’s very supportive. I think that’s the good thing. If you’re from different industries, he’s also curious about it,” she explained.

“Parang my friends have been saying [that] this is the quietest relationship I’ve ever been [in]. It’s a good thing,” she added.

Curtis’ previous boyfriends include actors Sam Milby and Richard Gutierrez.

Asked how Heussaff reacted to her love scene with actor Derek Ramsay in her upcoming movie, “No Other Woman,” Curtis said, “Hindi naman [nagseselos si Erwann]. He knows the story and everything. He knows how excited I am to shoot it and how excited I am kasi I play a different role.”

“No Other Woman,” which also stars Cristine Reyes, is Star Cinema’s newest offering. It is set to hit theaters by the end of September.

“Of course not. Hindi ko iiwan ang Showtime. Although may mga days na kailangan ko mag-absent to give way for my teleserye, may mga guest co-hosts si Vhong. Pero hinding hindi ko iiwan ang Showtime. Lifetime ako doon. Hanggang may Showtime nandoon ako,” she said.

Anne Curtis reacts to Liz Uy-PNoy ‘romance’

October 19, 2010

Celebrity stylist Liz Uy is laughing off rumors romantically linking her to President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, her close friend said Monday.

During the renewal of her contract with ABS-CBN, “Showtime” host Anne Curtis told that the Aquino-Uy supposed romance is an old issue, and Uy has long been aware of the spreading speculations.

“Hindi ba matagal na yon? Matagal na naman ‘yon. Siyempre hindi maiiwasan na she’s on the team with everyone, with Paul Cabral, with Juan (Sarte). So, siyempre siya ang babae, siya ang bibigyan ng kulay, siya ang babae. And I think it’s understandable kung mali-link kasi ganoon nga, pero wala, it’s all part of the business,” Curtis said.

Uy, Preview Magazine’s fashion editor-at-large, is part of a team that takes care of the President’s wardrobe and looks. She is also a close friend and stylist of the President’s youngest sister, actress-television host Kris Aquino.

Curtis also said she sees nothing wrong if the 50-year-old bachelor President will fall in love with Uy, who is now unattached.

Uy used to date actor John Lloyd Cruz. Aquino, on the other hand, was reported to have broken up with Valenzuela City councilor Shalani Soledad, his girlfriend of more than a year.

Curtis said: “If ever it should happen, of course naman, Presidente natin ‘yan, hindi ba?”

“Wala naman, natatawa lang naman siya. Sino ba naman din siya para magamit? Wala din naman siya sa posisyon noon. If ever ginawa niya yon ako din ang magsasabi sa kanya, ‘Hoy, dapat nga ang haba ng hair mo,’” Curtis added.

The actress said she does not know how Uy would react if she finds out that the issue is being resurrected. She said her celebrity stylist friend is currently confined at a hospital due to food poisoning.

“I don’t know kung nakarating na sa kanya. Actually, ngayon lang na bring-up ulit,” Curtis said.

New contract

Curtis, one of ABS-CBN’s brightest stars, renewed her one-year contract with the Kapamilya network.

Under her new contract, Curtis is set to do 2 television series, including “Green Rose.” In “Green Rose,” she will star opposite Jericho Rosales.

She will also continue to be part of musical variety show “ASAP XV” and afternoon program “Showtime.”

Contrary to speculations, Curtis said she has never received any offer from rival networks.

On Mariel Rodriguez issue

Meanwhile, for the first time, Curtis broke her silence on Mariel Rodriguez- Toni Gonzaga rift.

Rumor has it that Curtis was the one who told Gonzaga that Rodriguez was badmouthing her.

But Curtis clarified that she has nothing to do with the issue, stressing that her friendships with the two female stars are okay.

“Hindi ako ‘yon, ang masasabi ko… I’d rather stay out of it. Basta ako okay ako kay Mariel, okay ako kay Toni, okay ako kay (Luis) Manzano. So, out ako diyan,” Curtis said.

Rodriguez and Manzano are also not on speaking terms, but Manzano declined to reveal the reason behind their misunderstanding.
