Charice offered US stay by David Foster, says mom

American record producer and composer David Foster, the manager of international singing sensation Charice, has offered the young Filipino star to move to the United States, her mother has said.

In an exclusive interview with abs-cbnNEWS.com , Raquel Pempengco, Charice’s mother, said Foster told them that it would be convenient to stay in the US while the singer attends to her commitments abroad.

“Ang sabi niya ay mag-stay na nga kami doon kasi nandoon na ‘yung career ni Charice pero hindi nga ako pumayag kasi nandito pa si Koykoy (Charice younger brother),” the mother said.

Pempengco said that she would prefer to return to the Philippines from time to time, even for just a few days because of her son’s schooling.

Singing sensation Charice Pempengco is reaching heights never imagined by any Filipino performer, and she has made us all proud to be Pinoy!

On July 20, she sang a duet with world renowened tenor Andrea Bocelli at the Third Edition of the Teatro del Silenzio at a natural amphitheater between the rolling hills of Lajatico, a small rural town in Volterra Valley, Italy.

Charice was personally handpicked by Andrea Bocelli to sing a duet with him during the concert, and they sang “The Prayer” and received a rousing standing ovation. And she was the only artist who sang with Bocelli that the next day, her picture with Bocelli was on the front pages and also played up in the newscast.
