Claudine Barretto’s love scenes no big deal for Raymart
July 7, 2008
CLAUDINE Barretto has done many teleseryes but she considers her role as Catherine in “Iisa Pa Lamang” the most demanding so far.
She is subjected to all sorts of humiliation, deceit, and oppression but gets redeemed and emerges triumphant in the end. “Malawak ang role kaya mahirap gawin,” says Claudine. “But any actress worth her salt will enjoy portraying Catherine kasi maganda’t makulay talaga ang naging buhay niya.”
Catherine has two childhood friends: Miguel Castillejos (Diether Ocampo) and Raphael Torralba (Gabby Concepcion). Raphael goes to the US and while he’s away, Catherine and Miguel fall in love with each other.
When he returns to their hacienda in Amadesto, Batangas, he learns that Catherine and Miguel are already sweethearts so he keeps his feelings for her to himself.

Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo naglasing para ma-take ang kanilang love scenes
July 2, 2008

Rafael Rossel’s nude scene in Maligno sanitized?
April 25, 2008
RAFAEL Rosell was praised by the press after the preview of “Maligno.” He really has a demanding role as Lucas, the devil’s disciple who rapes Claudine Barretto to conceive the devil’s son. He is naked and covered with blood in the rape scene and there were talks that it will be sanitized, but Director Wenn Deramas says there’s no need to do that as it’s been approved without cuts by the MTRCB.
In contrast to his role, Diether Ocampo as Claudine’s leading man is hardly noticed.
“Kaya lang, I appear right away sa pilot episode while he appears a few episodes later pa as the doctor who attends to Claudine.”

SUSAN Roces was present at the presscon of “Maligno,” which is near to her heart as it won for her second FAMAS best actress award 30 years ago. After she saw the pilot episode, she said she’s happy with its modernized version and she congratulated Director Wenn Deramas and the entire cast headed by Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo and Rafael Rosell for a job well done. After the preview, she spread goodwill by donating a total of P14,000 that was raffled off to the press.
“I find the TV remake of ‘Maligno’ more scary and exciting kasi ibinagay sa bagong henerasyon ng viewers,” she says. “I have no doubt it will be a toprater like ‘Patayin sa Sindak si Barbara.’ I’m sure the original director, Celso Ad. Castillo, will also appreciate how they gave new treatment to the material.”
Claudine, who reprises Susan’s role, said she was nervous during the presscon because of the presence of Ms. Roces.

Kim Chiu, starstruck kay Claudine Barretto
April 20, 2008
Duduruin mo pa at sasaktan?
