One of the rare Filipino artists who never fails to make his country proud every time he performs all over the world, Mr. Pure Energy , Gary Valenciano , fresh from his successful concert tour in Europe , will be making a milestone this year as he celebrates his 25 years in the business.

To treat his fans to a memorable get together , Gary V. will stage a one night only Concert event on November 27, 2008 at the Aviation Club in Dubai via “Gary V.:Live at 25 in Dubai” , perceived to be the ultimate concert to cap all anniversary showdowns this year.

“Gary V.: Live at 25 in Dubai is expected to be the biggest and most historic concert of the world class singer – performer as it chronicles the 25 colorful years of his career that continues to pinnacle even to this day. At 25, Gary V. remains to be at the top of his game.

Gary had just come back from a highly successful concert tour in Europe that took him to overwhelming responses from his audiences in Belfast, Vienna and London and he brings back with him the adulation from his fans there who are one in saying that each Gary V. they attend proves to be an experience for them.

Tribute to Gary V.

Some of the Philippine industry’s sought after bands performed again at the Magnet High Street last October 22, 2008 to pay tribute to Gary V.’s 25th year of existence in the OPM scene. This recent event is already a follow up to the first tribute gig that happened last August 2008. As we all know, Gary V. played a big part in promoting Filipino talent here and internationally. The tribute gig was to promote Gary V’s upcoming major concert that will be held on November 14 to 15 at the Araneta Coliseum. Gary V.’s guests will be some of the country’s promising rock bands such as Rivermaya, Sugarfree, Bloomfields, and Salamin.

The bands that performed at the Magnet event were Sandwich, Imago, Pedicab, Salamin, Reklamo, ChicoSci, Severo, Greyhoundz and Spongecola. Each of these bands showed their version of a Gary V. song. Salamin, lead by Gary V.’s son Paolo Valenciano, performed “Babalik Ka Rin”, the song that was used on an ad in the 90’s dedicated to the Overseas Filipino Workers.

Paolo Valenciano even imitated the movements his dad made for this song that made the audience laugh a bit. Imago performed a heartbreaking love song “Paano Ko Sasabihin”.

gary valencianoWE were at the old Tavern on the Square in Makati when Gary Valenciano had his first concert in 1983. Now, he’s celebrating his 25th year in showbiz with “His Love,” a concert series at the Music Museum on May 22, 23, 29 and 30. What are the highlights of those 25 years?

“A lot!” he says. “Winning the TOYM Award, being nominated as best actor when I’m a singer, winning the Awit album of the year award for ‘Shout for Joy,’ which is the first of its kind in being inspirational. Each major concert of mine is a highlight as I keep replaying the images of what I did in them in my mind.

Fan talaga ang actor ni Gary, dahil habang kumakanta, nakatitig at talagang nakinig siya at napasigaw pa sa tuwa.

Pang-apat na beses nang si Gary ang kumanta ng theme song ng movie ni Aga at nang tanungin kung bakit, heto ang kanyang sagot: “Naniniwala ako sa kanya, nakaka-uplift siyang kumanta at feel na feel ang kanta ’pag siya ang kumakanta, mas nagkakaroon ng impact ’pag siya ang kumanta at sa kanta pa lang, makikita mo na ang story ng movie at idagdag pang magaling siyang singer.”

Samantala, pinansin ng press ang puwet ni Anne Curtis du’n sa eksenang naka-two-piece siya at niyayang mag-swimming si Aga.
